Itri Levent Erkol, one of our cooperative partners, shared his findings on "Istanbul's Last Buffalo Rangelands and Water Management" at the panel on the "Çamuralem / Wallowland" project of the artist and activist duo Cooking Sections, on September 16, 2022, within the scope of the 17th Istanbul Biennial.
With the Kanal Istanbul project, Çamuralem aims to increase the awareness of the people of Istanbul and the public about buffalo pastures and buffalo breeding, which are in danger of extinction. Rehabilitation of wetlands with active and passive methods, reducing the input cost in buffalo farming, increasing the resilience of local communities and ecosystems against climate change are among the objectives of this project. @cookingsections
